Clogged Shower? Get a Toothbrush!

Wanted to blog about household tips for a long time now but never got around to it. Perhaps this may be common sense to everyone but nothing wrong with stating the obvious to those who may not be in the know.

So, you take a shower, and your shower ain't draining away. You get annoyed, you call the landlord, wait a week for the plumber to come and voila you can shower in peace without dirt water pooling at your feet again. Woohoo!

Well, if a shower drain is clogged, more often than not its just clogged with hair and all sorts of organic gunk. With any old toothbrush you can unclog the drain so easily you wonder why you pay whatever ridiculous sum to some plumber to do the same job. Steps detailed below with gross pictures. Takes less than 5 minutes to do.

Remove shower drain cover with end of toothbrush.


Remove gunk collector which doesn't work.


Dig about with your toothbrush repeatedly and dispose of gunk. Repeat until clean.


Dispose of gunk and toothbrush coz they stink like hell! With that much crap in there of course it's clogged.

Et voila! You have just saved yourself lots of moneh.
